Networking is the layer that quietly decides whether your system is secure and reachable — and it's almost always the hardest thing to change later. I design VPC and VNet topology and segmentation deliberately, with private endpoints, controlled egress, and DNS, load balancing and ingress laid out so the blast radius of any one mistake stays small. The default posture is zero-trust: nothing is reachable because it happens to share a network, only because policy explicitly allows it — which is what makes hybrid and on-premise connectivity safe rather than a back door.
